2. WESLEY² MAINER (PLEASANT¹ MAINARD) was born May 19, 1839 in Kentucky, and died July 21, 1920 in Short Mountain, Logan Co. Ark.. He married CHARITY SHORES July 22, 1860 in Franklin Co. Arkansas, daughter of WILLIAM SHORES and ELIZABETH HUTCHINS. She was born August 11, 1844 in Washington Co. Ark., and died December 13, 1892 in Logan Co. Ark..

Notes for WESLEY MAINER:
*Wesley Mainer enlisted in Company I, 34th Arkansas Infantry Regiment (Confederate) on July 2, 1862 in Ozark. Wesley appears on Muster Rolls from July 2, 1862 until the roll for August 31, 1863 where the notation appears "deserted". The story goes he was captured by the Union Army, and was told if he didn't join with them, he would be killed. He is listed as being in the 2nd Arkansas Calvary. There is no discharge on record. This information was given to me by Beth Solheim-Mainer and Lucille Clayton.
