Charles Thomas and Lucy Ann (EATON) COCKSON came to the U.S. from Staffordshire, England in 1871, lived in New York for two years and homesteaded in Nebraska in 1873. Other names related to this U.K. line of my family are KENT and CUNLIFFE. Most of my research is currently in this direction.Other names I am tracing on the paternal side are NICOLAS (France), FISHER (Marshall Co. Ill. 19th Century & Germany), AHRENS(Germany).Maternal names, which I have barely begun work on are STACHURA and JARECKI (Poland).I will be happy to provide more detailed information that I currently have to anyone else with these interests. I would also appreciate any direction and information to further my search.

Family Photos

  • Mom & Dad as newlyweds (288 KB)
Did you ever see two happier looking people? They stayed that happy the whole time they were together. Dad was an excellent cattle rancher and a good trumpet player, having played in big bands through the '30s. Mom was a superb gardener, loving all plants, and a darn good cook. They both loved to dance and the term "made for each other" was never more true than when you saw them on the dance floor. Angels cried when they were separated at my dad's death after 48 years together.
