I am researching my greatgrandfather, Patrick Cody who was born on July 17, 1828 in Ireland, perhaps Co. Kilkenny. He came to North America in 1845/46. On March 6, 1848, he married Bridget Quillan at Lindsay, Ont. Canada. He and Bridget were second cousins once removed or third cousins. Bridget Quillan was born in Ireland in 1827. Sometime after 1859, they moved to Manannah, Minnesota, USA. Records from 1896 indicate that Patrick and his son Michael owned land there. Their son, John owned land near Lake Henry, Minn. USA in 1896. Patrick died on April 6, 1906 at Lake Henry. Bridget died in 1887 and is buried at Manannah. Among their children were Michael, who was killed in a rail road accident in Montana, Rose, Peter, Bridget who married _______ Hubbard, John, who married Veronica Dietrich, Mary Ann, who married John Boch/Bock, and Elizabeth who married Patrick Flynn. In 1907, my grandfather, John Cody brought his family to Sask. Canada. I am willing to share information. |
