Hiram Selathiel Albright (b. May 24, 1827, d. Sep 22, 1903)
Hiram Selathiel Albright was born May 24, 1827 in Ohio, and died Sep 22, 1903 in Johnson County, IA. He married Mary Ann Cain on May 29, 1850 in Fulton County, IL, daughter of Joseph J. Cain and Barbara J. Heckard.
Notes for Hiram Selathiel Albright: Died while alone. H.S. Albright was found dead in his room at the home of his son Milo Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock. He had been confined to his room for several days but showed no signs of being so near death's door a half hour before he was discovered dead. He has been failing fast since the fore part of July when his wife was taken from him by death. He was in his 77th year and was a highly respected old gentleman. The funeral is being held this afternoon from the Christian church conducted by Rev. Ballou of Iowa City.
Note from Loan Hiram was the last child of George and Mary. He was born in Ohio May 24, 1827 later moving with his family to Illinois in 1835. He remained with his parents and farmed alongside of his father. In the 1850 census of Stark County, Il. it shows Hiram owning 400 acres and being 23 years of age. He married the youngest (sic) child of Joseph Kane and Barbara Heckard Kane, who was a niece of Samuel Kane, his sister Charlottes husband. After the death of George Albright, Hiram sold his farm and the family moved to Coneville, Muscatine County, Iowa. He died at his son Milo's house. He had been confined to his room for several days but showed no sign of being so near to death.
