As many Coffey researchers have found, the Coffey line has many unanswered questions as to the beginnings. There is alot written, and disputed, as to the beginnings of Edward Coffey`s family line in this country!
With that said, I start my line with John Coffey and Jane Graves. Many reasearchers have uncovered their decendants, my family line decends from this same early pioneer Coffey Family from Virginia, to Thomas Coffey and Sallie Field in North Carolina. Larkin Coffey along with his wife Catherine (Wilson) and other Coffey family members then traveled to Monroe Co. Ind, settled and raised their families.
One of their sons Adolphus Coffey, my GrGrGrandfather was born. This is were my research began, as there did`nt seem to be anything listed as to his decendants. The following at least brings to light another branch of this Coffey line!
