The French government appointed him in 1922 a member of the supreme bet din (court of appeal) which had its seat in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. In 1934, he deputized for Raphael Ankawa chief Rabbi of Morocco during his illness and he succeeded him after his death In 1935, he was made president of the SupremeBet din. He was succeeded in 1941,by Rabbi Joshua Berdugo. Served until his death at the age of 80 years old. Wrote many unpublished manuscripts.

Le gouvernement Français l'a nommé en 1922 comme membre du Haut Bet Din (Cour suprême Rabbinique) laquelle avait son siège à Rabat, capitale du Maroc. En 1934, il a assuré l'intérim de Grand Rabbin Rabbin du Maroc pendant la maladie de R'Raphael Ankawa et il l'a remplacé après sa mort en 1935;il devint alors président du Haut tribunal Rabbinique. Il a été remplacé par la suite en 1941,par le Rabbin Joshua Berdugo. R'Yékotiel a servi dans ce poste jusqu'à sa mort à l'âge de 80 ans .Il a écrit beaucoup de manuscrits inédits.

Lors d'une entrevue à Montreal ,le 21 Nov.2001, Daniel ,originaire de Rabat m'a situé exactement les 2 épouses de son grand-père et validé et corrigé la descendance et l'ordre chronologique de chacune des épouses; en effet elle est tout à fait différente de celle trouvée dans la source 3 du site Internet de M.Daniel Loeb( versions antérieuresà 2002).
