| I am researching my husband's ancestors: The CARLIER / COLLIER family of Wayne County, New York along with the those direct ancestry families that married into the line to include: BRASSER, BROWN, CARPENTER, CLICQUENNOI, DOUGHER, KEIJMEL, MCANDREW(S), MULROONEY/ROONEY, PAPKE, PEET, PROVO, SNYDER, WALSH. The CARLIER family emigrated from the Netherlands in 1852. Other areas of interest with the COLLIER family lines are: Eastern Canada, England, Ireland, Monroe and Wayne Counties in New York, and Pennsylvania (primarily Philadelphia and the Northeastern coal mining region.) I am also researching my own ancestors: The PAPKE family of Rochester, Monroe Co, New York and the direct ancestors that married into that line which include: BAUMBACH, DREVERMAN(N), GERSCHEFSKI, KERN, KEHOE, KUSCHEL, KUTSCHKE, LEMAITRE dit LATTINVILLE, MCCUMBER, MILLER, NICKEL, and SHAUMLO(E)FFEL. The PAPKE family emigrated from Kreis Stolp, Pommern, Prussia during the 1880s. Our PAPKEs settled in Rochester, Monroe, New York and begins with my GGgrandfather August Ludwig Herman PAPKE (b. 1831, Alt Karwen, Kreis Stolp) and his wife, Maria Henriette Elizabeth KUTSCHKE PAPKE who was born in Wobesde, Kreis Stolp in 1832. Besides Pommern (Pomerania) where the PAPKEs, KUSCHELs and KUTSCHKEs were from, my BAUMBACH, KERN, and SCHAUMLOEFFEL ancestors emigrated from Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg between 1840 and 1850. The DREVERMANNs came from Dusseldorf sometime between 1865 and 1875. The LATTINVILLEs came from Eastern Canada (Ontario and Quebec). Although some of the KERNs eventually migrated from Rochester to San Francisco, CA in the 1880's and one of my KUSCHELs (Herman, b. 1881) eventually moved to Buffalo c1900?, the majority of the rest of the family lines pretty much stayed in the Western New York State area, primarily the counties of Monroe and Wayne. I hope you will visit this page often as it will always be a WORK IN PROGRESS. This site was last updated 9 April 2002. |
