In 1969, Tommy was adopted by George VAVOUGIOS and Helen ANDRIANOPOULOS. His natural (birth) parents were both of Greek origin.
His biological father returned to Greece soon after he heard that Tommy's birth mother was pregnant. Anna KAPSALIS, his biological mother, had light brown eyes and light brown hair and was 21 years old at the time of Tommy's birth. Anna returned to Greece after giving birth to Tommy at the Royal Victoria hospital in Montreal. Tommy was adopted at the age of 10 months. In 2001, Anna's sister, Tommy's aunt, was still living in Montreal, Qc, Canada.
