Mrs. L. Thompson, 86, of Michigan City, died Wednesday, March 10, 1993, at 4:20 A.M. at Michigan City Health Care Center.

The funeral will be held at 11 A.M. Friday at Greenwood Cemetery Chapel. Friends may call at the chapel from 10 A.M. until service Friday. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Paul Lutheran Church.

Carlisle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Note: All of Lila's family are buried side by side at Greenwood Cemetery in Michigan City, Indiana.

She married Harry Edward "Red" Cresswell 25 Dec 1901 in Tippecanoe Co., Indiana, son of Richard Cresswell and Ellen Thompson. He was born 02 Jan 1878 in Boggstown, Shelby Co., IN, and died 23 Jan 1969 in Clinton, Oneida Co., NY.

Notes for Charlotte Lottie Shaffer:
She lived in Rochester NY after her marriage to Harry Cresswell. When she passed away, she was brought back to Uncle George Shaffer's home prior to her funeral to be buried near her parents in Clarks Hill Cemetery a 1/2 mile north of Clarks Hill.

Lottie was an accomplished pianist and composer. Kenneth Thompson, a first cousin once removed and son of George and Daisy Abbott Thompson was just five years old at the time was at her funeral and received as a memento sheet music of one of her songs that was dedicated to her mother Martha Thompson titled 'Just A Gleam of Silver In Her Hair'.

Others known present at the funeral were the George Thompson family, Charles and Sidney Shaffer, George and Rhoda Nydegger Shaffer and Blanche Thompson Marmaduke.
