REF: Travis Families & Allies by Gen. Robt. J. Travis, 1954.), and died 17 January 1781 in Battle of Cowpens, Spartanburg District, South Carolina. He married ElizabethUnknown?.
Notes for Howell Elijah Wall:
Researcher Warren Wall has Howell married to an Elizabeth HARTLEY. I have not been able to verify this as of yet. He also has Drury as a son of Howell. This camp seems to be equally divided. Some think that he was a son and brother to Rev. Howell WALL. Many think he was not. I do believe that he was a close relative though. He did witness the will of Rev. Howell WALL and he was living right next to him in Beaufort Dist, SC in 1800.

There seems to be some confusion on the father of Rev. Howell WALL. In an article on Judge William B. WALL in the "Encyclopedia of the New West", p. 246: Rev. Howell WALL' s father is listed as Elijah WALL - of Welsh descent. He supposedly emigrated from Wales to Edgefield district, SC, before the Revolution, and was killed at the Battle of Cowpens, his dwelling burned and other property burned and destroyed by the British. He had three sons according to this article, Elijah, Elisha, and Howell all whom were in the colonial army with him. I have found evidence of Elisha and Howell, but not Elijah. Could he be who the Elizabeth Wall was married to that is found on the 1790 Beaufort District, SC census? Or is Elizabeth the widow of Elijah WALL, SR (or Howell WALL). I have found only evidence of an older Howell WALL who was on the 1778 Beaufort Dist, SC Colonial Census. Possibly his name was Howell Elijah WALL.
