This is the home page for Family Tree Maker genealogy software. In my opinion, this is the best genealogy software to use, and it appears to have become the most popular nationally. Their product costs anywhere from $20-70, depending on the "extras" you want.
The Pollitte Family history that I will be distributing on cd-rom in the next few months was created using this program. You may want to buy a copy to get full use of the information (e.g., to be able to add, delete and edit it). However, you can also obtain a free "viewer" program that will allow you to see (but not change) the information on the cd.

Early 1800's, a son is David Henry Pollitt. Need to find parents of David.

You can go to this site to research the Kentucky Vital Records Index (Deaths, Marriages and Divorces). This is an excellent site to obtain family information, but you have to expiriment with the numerous misspellings of the Pollitte name to get the best results.
