He married GEORGE ANN PARKER 1873 in Mason Co., KY (Source: Mason Co. Records - Vol. 11, Page 151), daughter of WILLIAM PARKER and TELITHA CLIFT. She was born Jan 28, 1850 in Kentucky (Source: KY Vital Statistics (Death), Certificate #073-29118), and died Nov 23, 1911 in Lewis Co., KY (Source: KY Vital Statistics, Vol. 73, Certificate #29118).

This cemetery is divided into two sections and the names here represent the oldest stones, primarily those persons born before the 1890's. There are many stones of a later date for persons by the same name as those listed below. The cemetery is approximately 3 miles northeast of Orangeburg, Mason County." 7 pp.

It is difficult to determine exactly when or over what period these notes were compiled, but perhaps as early as the early 1930's (see appendix A for additional background). These notes, where verified, have proven extremely accurate.
Note: AWP notes identify subject as "William" Pollitt.

9. Obituary - [Maysville Evening Bulletin, Saturday, January 14, 1899]:
"Mrs. Kate Kennan, of Orangeburg, Falls a Victim to Consumption -
"The Angel of Death has been abroad in the land, leaving sorrow and tears in his pathway.
"Friday another home was darkened by his visit, the faithful wife and devoted mother being taken.
"Mrs. Kate Kennan, of Orangeburg, died Friday morning about 2 o'clock, of that dread disease, consumption. She was a daughter of Mr. Samuel Pollitt, and was born in Lewis County March 28th, 1846. She was married December 21st, 1871, to Mr. Franklin Kennan, who, with one son, survives her. She leaves two brothers,--Messrs. William and Basil Pollitt, of Lewis County, and one sister, Mrs. Robert Pollitt, of Dover. Rev. F. S. Pollitt, Presiding Elder of the Danville District, M. E. Church, South, is a nephew of the deceased.
"The funeral will occur to-day at 1 o'clock, Rev. Mr. Jones officiating. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery."
