Dear Gertrude.

Just a line to tell you that our brother – Dwight passed away Tuesday.

The suffering toward the last was so severe – that we were thankful  p*****g (passing) when it was over.

I wish that I could be there for this coming Sunday – Gertrude but when I do get back – I will try to make up for lost time. You and Toby have sincerely been “angels” to carry on so well – and I know that it couldn’t have been done in a better way.

I am so thankful that I arrived in time to have some good visits with Dwight. It made him happy – I think. He *** (was) still a “funny Man”. I am **rsing (pursing) that is ****(over)

Best regards to all the family ~ thanks ** (to) William in carrying on when you were so busy.

Love Alma
