Please note all references to the Colbert name are kept within the Colbert Message Board  & also within my own personal paper files. Please contact me to query your ancestors details in case I hold additional information on them. If no such details are known to me I would be grateful if you would pass the details you do hold onto me for future reference. If you are a member of the Colbert one name study the details you give during registration within the Colbert Message Board are the details I hold on your membership. Can you help?

If you think you may be able to offer assistance in gathering Colbert entries from the Country you live in I would be very grateful. I am based in the U.K so my research will be heavily linked to U.K resources. I welcome Colbert information from anywhere in the world.

Aims:

The intention is to correlate as many worldwide resources and information, available on one site. So with everyone's kind encouragement, input and support this site will point you in a positive direction for your research. I welcome any Colbert data worldwide. For example:

• Monumental Inscriptions [transcribed or photographs].
• Baptismal, Birth, Marriage & Death entries,
• Information from family Bibles, Letters or family papers,
• Census entries, Voters Lists,
• Obituaries,
• Photographs
• War entries
• Newspaper stories
• Colbert Surname Distribution information

Even if the information you wish to share is from your own research (no details on living individuals needed), this information would be of great benefit to others researching the surname. I will also consider publishing any sourced digital images on the website if web space allows, if this is not possible I will transcribe the entry and place the information via the: Colbert Message Board

GRO BIRTH RECORDS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

I have now completed the United Kingdom GRO 'Colbert' Births from September 1837 until December 1904. If you have U.K Colbert connections please email me & I will gladly share with you the information I have within this database.

GRO MARRIAGE RECORDS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

(Research Current)

I am currently pursuing all the United Kingdom GRO 'Colbert' Marriages. I have so far collected Marriages dated from September 1837 - 1861. At present I have many family commitments and will continue with this research when time allows.

NB: All the above entries are in the format of excel databases. This data will eventually be made freely available online. Unfortunately I cannot pursue the variants of the name (& I know there are many entries mis-spelt) I feel the best way forward at the moment is to proceed with the name of origin. Some of the more common variants that I have found when collecting the above data within the GRO indexes are: Colebert, Coulbert, Colburt, Coleburt, Callbert, Colbear. I have not noted the entries but hopefully will be in a position to do so in the future.
