Born in Swansea to Irish parents Patrick John Colbert (1840/1) and Mary Fitzgerald (Flynn) c. 1835/6. He grew up with his 2 1/2 brothers James (1857) and Michael Flynn (1864) and Edward Colebert(1870). John returned to Swansea in the late 1880's and married a Lily E Beynon on Christmas Day 1899. He died in Colbourne Tce Swansea July 1943 and is buried with Lily and his son William John who drown in 1922 in Cwmgelli Cemetery Treboeth Swansea. His Colbert line remains. I (Jen Colbert) am the last living Colbert descendant with the Colbert name.
