Notes for Benjamin Carden:
I am not sure Benjamin belongs to this family or for that matter even exist. I haven't found any information on him and I have information on every other sibling. Also, per a letter written by J. D. Roan for Gabriel Parker Carden in November of 1935 he is not listed with the other males born to John Carden.
There is a Benjamin D. Carden listed in the 1830 Pike Co., Georgia census. Listed as male 20-30, with 2 males under 5, 1 female 20-30 and 2 females under 5. Father John Carden is listed in Pike Co., also.
There is a Benjamin P. Carden listed in the 1840 Pike Co., Georgia census. Listed as male 30-40, with 1 male 15-20, 2 males 5-10, 2 males under 5, 1 female 30-40, 2 females 5-10 and 2 females under 5. Also, listed in Pike Co., would be brothers David, John Jr. and Andrew. No other Cardens listed in Pike County. I can't find this family after 1840. From all the research I have done I find no mention of this Benjamin in our family. Is it possible Benjamin died after 1840 census and his wife moved to be with her family or remarried and moved off and that is why there is no mention of this Benjamin and his descendants? Need to do more research here.
