He married Susanna Lincoln 29 May 1706 in Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA ³, daughter of Thomas Lincoln and Sarah Lewis. She was born 19 September 1688 in Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA ⁴, and died Aft. 10 October 1753 in Weymouth, Suffolk Co., MA ⁵.

Notes for John Colson:
      John Colson was born on the island of Bermuda about the year 1681. About the year 1700, John and possibly other members of his family moved to Massachusetts Bay, New England from Bermuda. John, first settling at Hingham, and then moving to Weymouth where he resided until his death July 4, 1752.

      John's life spanned the colonial period in American history from the austere puritan time of the late 1600s to the mid-1700s, when the events that led to American independence were in their decisive phase. John's family was affected by these events. His sons John and Brackley were killed during Indian wars, John while serving in Maine during the King George's War. His sons Ebenezer and Thomas were officers in the English Colonial Militia and fought in the French and Indian War. His grandsons *Christopher and Thomas also served during the French and Indian War. During the American War for Independence his sons, Thomas, Ebenezer, Josiah, grandsons John, Christopher, Bolter, Gideon, Joseph, James, and great grandsons, Abiah, and Christopher Colson all served the cause of American independance. His grandsons Christopher and Gideon giving their lives in the American cause.
