Lenna Ethel Drake (daughter of William J. Drake and Margaret Emma Banks) was born January 17, 1889 in Buncombe County, NC, and died January 12, 1919 in Ivy Township, Democrat, Buncombe County, NC. She married John Conley Gibbs on 1912 in Western NC.
Notes for Lenna Ethel Drake: Lenna Ethel's father blamed Lenna's death on John Conley Gibbs. Upon his mother's death, my Grandfather never saw his father. As family lore goes Lenna's Ethel's father William J. Drake threatened John Conley that he would shoot him if he ever came around the boys again. The 1920 and 1930 census shows my Grandfather and his brother living with their Grandparents William J. and Margaret Emma.
My research leads me to believe that Lenna Ethel died of the world-wide epidemic of the influenza/pneumonia of 1918-1919.
