This indenture made this the 11th day of June 1901 by and between IH Gorenflo and BV Gorenflo his wife parties of the first part, and CT and Jas. H. Run(?)bough parties of the second part, WITNESSTH:
That the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty-One Hundred dollars to their in hand paid by the said parties of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given, granted, bargained, sold, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents doth give , grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said parties of the second part their heirs and assigns forever a certain piece, parcel or lot of land, situate, bying and being in The City of Hot Springs County of Madison and state of North Carolina and bounded and more particularly described as follows:
Beginning one hundred feet from Bridge Street on a stake and running parallel with Spring Street and Spring Creek once hundred feet to a stake, thence two hundred and thirty seven feet south west (and with the line of CT Runbough Property) to a stake at foot of Hill to a lane thence one hundred feet with said lane to a stake tehnce, two hundred and thirty seven feet to the beginning containing (?) three fourth of an acre (3/4).

This deed made this 6th day of December 1905 by and between IH Gorenflo and BV Gorenflo his wife of Hot Springs in the county of Madison and State of North Carolina of the first part and the Bank of Hot Springs of Hot Springs Co and state aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth that the said party of the first, for in consideration of the sum of Six Hundred twenty five and no dollars in hand paid by the said party of the second part. The receipt wherof is hereby acknowledged ? hath bargained and sold by there presents doth grant and convey unto said party of the second part. (Isham and Vista named a son Charles Merritt) and (on the 1870 census HOH is Sarah with Isham and Mary Gowan 9 living with them)... The following persons were the first messengers to the Newfound Baptist Association which met at the Flats of Spring Creek on August 11, 1887: Rev. JE Carter, IH Gorenflo and CD Merritt.
