6. THOMAS² COMER (ELISHA¹, UNKNOWN^A)⁶⁸ was born 1829, and died February 15, 1876 in Taylor Twp., Howard Co., IN ⁶⁹. He married MARIA HAWKINS March 18, 1848 in Howard Co. IN ⁷⁰.

Mr. Thomas Comer, a well-known citizen of Taylor Township, died of paralysis on Tuesday. Our correspondent at Fairfield gives an account of his illness in another column.

FAIRFIELD, Feb. 17, 1876
Thomas Comer, a citizen of this place, and in the employ of R. J. Chase, went to his work on Tuesday about 12 o'clock but not returning home at the usual time search was at once instituted for him. The family first inquired at Mr. Chase's and not finding him there proceeded to the woods where they found him in a helpless and almost lifeless condition. He was conveyed home and after warming and stimulating him as well as could be done, it was found that he was entirely paralyzed on the right side. At this writing he is in a dangerous condition.
