OMER W. MAIN

Omer W. Main, 51, 2206 W. Judson Rd, who was a foreman in the inspection department of Stellite Works, Lindsay Street plant, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday in the St. Joseph Memorial Hospital. He had been ill since March.
Born in Kokomo, July 18, 1917, he was the son of Leo M. and Blanche (McCreary) Main. He had lived in this vicinity all of his life, and had been employed at Stellite Works for 27 years.
In 1939 he was married to Mary Belle Lingerman, who survives.
A member of the Union Street Friends Church, he was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose; the Quarter Century Club at Stellite Works and the Miami Tribe Indian Guides of Kokomo YMCA.
He had served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II in Italy.
Surviving with the widow and the mother of Peru area a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Biddi) Parry, Kokomo; a son, Scott Main, at home; two brothers, Leo Main, Kokomo, and Arthur Dane Main, Peru; a sister, Mrs. Fred (Sarah Jane) Culber, Carrollton, Ky., and several nieces and nephews. The father is deceased.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Ellers Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Walter McAdams officiating. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funera chapel after 1 p.m. Friday.

John Comer was a farmer all his life. He was also interested in civic activities and politics. He served four terms as trustee of Liberty Township, Grant County, and was instrumental in the formation of the Madison-Grant School system. He was the first president of the Madison-Grant school board. He also served four terms on the Grant County Council and was president a part of that time. He was a member of the Fairmount Masonic lodge and a life long member of Center Christian Church.
