2. EMMA DALE2 WOOTEN (JOHN FRANKLIN1) was born 13 Jan 1881 in Pendleton, SC, and died Nov 1963 in Greenville SC. She married (1) WILLIAM YANCEY SIMPSON. He was born 1884 in South Carolina, and died 1939 in TRavelers Rest, SC. She married (2) CLEMENTS.

MMA DALE WOOTEN:
Emma was a very smart women and worked very hard. She loved beautiful flowers and kept a beautiful flower garden. She lived on a farm at Travelers Rest South Carolina when she died as did her husband William Yancey Simpson. She won a prize for writing a short story and for a prize she won a miniature automobile which the family thought was funny because she was a female. Her son William Dennis bought her and her husband the farm at traveler's rest, SC. She worked in a clothing factory in Greenville, SC when her children were small. William Yancey Simpson, her husband went looking for this son in law one night. His son in law, Earl, (Ella Mae's Husband came to visit. The weather was bad and rainy. Earl had been drinking and did not come home. William went to look for him. It was cold and raining outside and William caught pneumonia and died.

Emma Died of Natural death after being in ill health for shome time. She died quickly with no suffering. She died at Elaine's home in Charlotte, NC.

NNIE LEE SIDES:
She would take food and things to Eula, JB Wooten's wife. Eula was crippled and scooted around on a cane bottom chair with roller skate wheels on it. She tried to take care of the boy Wallace, her son, who was mentally retarded. I have not discovered why Eula did not receive a pension from J.B. Wooten, her husband killed in the war. Letitia Wooten and my grandfather William Halbert Wooten received the check once a month after his death.

HOMAS JENKINS WOOTEN:
Thomas was in World War II. Upon his return from the war, there were so many diseases on the ship that the ship was quarinteened until the men on board either died or got well enough to leave the ship. Once he was allowed to leave the ship, he knew he had contacted TB. He died in the veterans hospital in Oteen, North Carolina.
