Notes for Oma Lee Evans: Oma Lee Evens Married Henry Edward Mills Sept. 1, 1895. They had 13 children.
Oma Lee Evans Mills, life was hard, coming from a life of the finer things. She had to work hard as a farmers wife. Oma Lee lost her self in books she loved to read, she said that through her books she traveled the world, while becoming the actress she always dreamed of being. Oma Lee said if only her children could have half the things she had while growing up. She often said she did her hand work and lost herself in her books while her children tended to the chores, including the cooking and tending to younger brothers and sisters. Aprox. 1951 Henry & Oma Lee moved back to Ms. to live on their daughter Maries, husbands farm. Henry died there, Oma Lee moved back to Ar. living with her daughters, Sallie, Medgie, & Bertha. Feeling sadden to be a burden, she said to them, yesterday my mother was the sore toe, today I am the sore toe and tomorrow you shell be the sore toe.
