Notes for William Orville Mills: The brothers Lester, William, & Oscar left IL. got to Memphis, TN. there they separated. Oscar stayed in Memphis, TN. William went to Maritta, Ms. and Lester must have just moved around to keep ahead of the law.
William must have moved between Ms. & TN. because some of the kids were born in Ms. & some of them in TN.
It also appears that William & Talitha were married in TN.
William Orville had been married briefly before being married to Talitha, what happened to that marriage is unclear. A son was born, William moved on without him. Now married to Talitha he was so unhappy without the son. Talitha rose one morning and dressed before William woke, settled a horse, and sought out the child. She found him playing along a fence roe, she took the boy to his father. He was Renamed William/Will and lived with them until Aprox. age 19, he developed pneumonia after a bout with the measles and lost his life. Another story is that his name was William Mills and he became the first Gov. of New Mexico. He had been living in Texas, until the state of New Mexico was formed.
