It is believed that a Terrence O'Connor (abt 1733) was born in Tipperary County, Ireland and arrived in colonial Virginia in 1755. It is believed that John Connor (1755) and Samuel (abt 1768) was born in colonial Virginia. However, there remains conflicting information as to whether the birth year of Terrence Connor is 1752 or 1757 and whether he was born in Tipperary County, Ireland or in colonial Virginia.

It must be noted that this author has not verified these conflicting versions of the events.

It is known that records first appeared for Terrence Connor (1757?) when he joined the Continental Army in 1776. It is well documented that Terrence was a soldier for over three years fighting for American independence.

It is also known that these three brothers together moved their families through the Cumberland Pass into Kentucky Territory in 1785. Around 1806, these families again moved this time to Indiana Territory. The Connor / Conner families are recognized as early pioneers along the Ohio River in both Kentucky and Indiana.
