Marriage Notes for Pierre Payet and Louise Tessier: November 22,1671 In the house of Urbain Tessier, situated to the north of "The Place of the Armies" in the afternoon of 22 November 1671, the noted Benigne Basset dictated the condition of contract of marriage between Pierre Payette dit St. Amour, son of Pierre P ayette (without surname) & of Marie Martin of the town of Fleurence (flowers) in the ancient country,Gascogne, and now with Louise Tessier, daughter of Urbain Tessier & of Marie Archambault, Ex corporal , freed from the military service, (in the future to?) serve in the ranks of the company of la Mothe, which arrived in Quebec 17, August 1665. Married in the presence of notables of Ville Marie & the famous Regiment of Carignan.
