| This page is dedicated to the family of my paternal Grandmother Alma Fairchild Conley. Alma (pronounced Almie) was the third child of Levi and Lucy Hitchcock Fairchild. On this page you will find not only her ancestory, but the families from which she came. The Fairchild family is an ancient one in the United States, arriving in Connecticutt in the 1630's. My grandmother is a descendant of the Revolutionary soldier and pioneer, Abuid Fairchild. His descendants include a large portion of the Blair, Reed, and Colvin families in Johnson County, Kentucky. As well as the Fairchild family, I have included the Hitchcock family. This family was established in East Kentucky by Joshua Hitchcock, also a veteran of the Revolutionary War. I have also included the Cantrell and Spradlin families as well. Abiud's grandson, Enoch married Frances Cantrell, the daughter of Elijah Cantrell and Peggy Connelly. His son, Asa J. married Sarah Sally Ratliff, the granddaughter of James R. and Rachel Connelly Spradlin. This material can all be found on the Connelly Page, however, I believe there is enough information on these two families to warrant separate reports. Be sure to check out my other web sites: WWW.ConnellyClan.Com- The resource page which ties all my pages together The Connelly Page-The Connelly, Blair, Rice, and Witten Families as well as my ancestory The Pelphrey Page-The Pelphrey, Trimble, VanHoose, Salyer, and Lemaster Families The Blanton Page- The Blanton, McKenzie, Cantrell, and Davis Families I hope this page both entertains and educates you concerning the folks who lived and died in the hills of East Kentucky.
