According to Revolutionary War records (S6291) Ellis Tycer, NC Line Soldier, enlisted at Halifax Co., VA. Discharged from service in 1782; returned to Halifax Co., VA and lived there after War; then moved to Wilkes Co., NC for 3 years; in 1792 moved to Davidson Co., TN.
