Notes for WILLIAM MCLEAN: Bill was known as the skallywag. He convinced all the family members to give him their life savings so he could go to Oklahoma and claim a homestead. He disappeared and was never again seen. The family felt he took off with their money to Colorado during the Gold rush to mine gold. Either he was to embarrassed to return or he was killed. |
