DEATH CLAIMED W. K. MULLER MONDAY Had Been A Sufferer 35 Years, But Patience and Fortitude Were Wonderful
After having suffered with rheumatism for 35 years, W. K. Muller died Monday morning, 9:30 o'clock, in his home on Quimby street, Ida Grove.
His case was remarkable in that he seldom complained and was very thoughtful of others, during the long period he was an invalid.
He was 76 years of age, and came to Ida County in 1884.
The funeral services will be conducted in the home this afternoon, Wednesday, at 2 p.m., the Rev. Iversen to officiate. Rtv. Iversen is pastor of the Ida Grove Lutheran church.
Although troubled by rheumatism for many years, Mr. Muller's decline did not become serious until October 11, 1925, when his daughter, Mrs. Ludwig, and brother, Fred Muller, died. The shock of two deaths of close relatives on the same day bowed him in grief, and from then on his poor health became more pronounced. The last two months he was bedfast all the time.

He came to America in 1868 first settling in Clayton County, Iowa. In the fall of 1872 he was united in Marriage to Eliza Weil and eleven children were born to them, two of them, Fred and Lavina being deceased.
In 1884 Mr. Muller came to Ida County, and settled on a farm five and a half miles southwest of Ida Grove..that farm is now occupied by his youngest daughter< Mrs. Jens Graversen. Mr. Muller remained on that farm until 1915 when he moved to Ida Grove. Since 1915 the Muller home has been on Quimby Street.
Early in life Mr. Muller was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He was one of the charter members of the Ida Grove Lutheran church. Although poor health prevented him from being active in church work, his faith and his interest in his church never wavered. As a pioneer Mr. Muller saw hard times but always he was generous toward the needy.
Mr. and Mrs. Muller celebrated their golden wedding September 12, 1922. He is survived by his wife and five sons and four daughters. The children are D. L. and A. L. Muller, of Greeley, Colo; Henry and John Muller, of Dell Rapids, S. D.; Walter F. Muller, of Ida Grove; Mrs. T. W. Miner, of Spirit Lake, IA; Mrs. B. L. Ludwig, of Battle Creek; Mrs. Jens Graversen of Ida Grove; and Anna, who is at home and has tenderly cared for the parents in their declining years.
Among the survivors of W. K. Muller are 28 grand children, two great grand children; and a brother, C. H. Muller, of Denton, Kansas; and three sisters, Louis Boller of Hickman, Neb,; and Minnie Ware, of Valentine, Neb.
