GEORG BUB was born in German, came to America in 1766 aboard the ship "Betsy". Settled in North Cumberland (now Union) co. abt 1770.
In the name of God Amen I GEORGE BUB of Hartley Township, Union County and the State of Pennsylvania being weak in body but of sound mind, memory and understanding do make and publish this Instrument of writing as my last will and testament as follows.
Fir I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named.
Secondly concerning my worldly estate which consists of bonds and notes and other accounts and personal property. It is my will and do order that all the notes and bonds shall stay on interest until the death of my beloved wife Maria Margaret of which she shall secure the interest or so much thereof as she wants for her support during her natural life, to be provided for out of the same by my Executor and if the interest should not be sufficient for her support then my Executor shall collect so much of the principle as will support her and pay for other necessities and her funeral expenses and my personal property shall remain in her possession so long as she lives and after her death shall be sold by my executor and the money arising from such sale and the other outstanding monies shall then as soon as convenient be collected and divided share alike among all my children except my daughter Catherine, intermarried with JOHN KISTER who shall have thirty dollars less than either of my other children.
And lastly I appoint my beloved son GEORGE BUP Jr. to be the Executor of this my last will and testament giving and granting him all my power and authority in and about the same. In writing whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 12th day of October, 1825.
Signed, sealed, published and declared by the testator as his last will and testament at whose request in the presence of each other we have subscribed our names hereto as witnesses.
