Per Larry Keister's e-mail dated 5/14/00:

The Twins died not too long after their birth. Lydia died on 10 May 1852,their mother Matilda died on 1 June 1852, Levi died on 12 Aug. 1852....Daniel Keister died of a broken heart on 13 January, 1853. The records say the twins and mother died of blood poisoning, but with the multiple occurrences of early, and late onset diabetes in the family this is now believed to be the cause of death.
