Orpha Bell married "Barney" Miller. After Barney died she traveled to Hawaii and California many times. She lived and worked at the ice cream factory in Lusk, Wyoming until she retired.
There was one year that Georgia, her daughter, and Orpha got into a bad car accident on I-25 right out of Denver. Orpha suffered a broken neck. It took a long time for her to recover. She did without becoming paralyzed. While living at a Senior Center in Cheyenne, after retiring, she was enjoying life to the fullest when one day she was crossing the street and was hit by a car. This happened several years after the car accident. This too took a long time to recover.
Later on she moved to a Senior Center in Guernsey, Wyoming. Here she was close to both her daughters, Dorothy and Georgia. She was there for about 5 to6 years when it came time for her to move to a nursing home in Torrington, Wy. This happened January 18, 1983 and she was placed with the Goshen County Nursing Home.
