Im glad you liked the pictures. I never knew my grand father. A lady with high
heel shoes stepped on his foot at a bus stop and because he diabetis, he got
gangreen from the bruise. they had to take off his left leg, but it spresd to his
right leg and they had to take it also. I havent found any medical records about
his right arm , but my granny Jo said that they also had to take his right arm.
They gave him morphine, and put leaches on his stumps to eat the rotten flesh.
The Morphien gave him really bad ulcers till finally his peptic ulcer burst and
he bled to death. My grandmother said he would beg her over and over again to let
him go home. He was in the hospital from December 11, 1930 untill March 1, 1931
when he finally died. My Dad was only 4 years old when Clyde died, and my Aunt
Harriet was 2years old she doesnt have any memory of him at all. From the
pictures we have of him you could really tell he loved his kids. He was in the
hospital at the U.S.Veterant Hostital in Portland Oregon, and is burreid in the
Lincoln Memorial Park Veterans Cemetary.............I havent gotten anything from
Belva. That would be really neat to have a copy of what she sent you. Thanks!!
To answer your question about Clydes' eye I think he did have a lazy eye. I
cant wait to get the rest of wak's journal. I wish I could find a picture of
Ellen McCulloch Keister ( John McCulloch Keisters' mother). If you ever run
across one please send me a copy!!!!!
gotta grt busy decoraiting the house for xmas.see ya...........Larry
