| I am researching the family of Enoch Galloway, Sr., (1798-1864). Enoch was born in PA and died in Guernsey Co., OH. He was married 4 times and fathered 17 children (10 of which lived to have families of their own). Four children (Mary, Esther, Enoch Jr., and Samuel) married and moved to Jasper Co., IL. James moved to Oregon after the death of his first wife and began a second family. Henry married, served in the Civil War, and moved to southern Ohio (Lawrence County) and Lincoln Co., WV. The remaining 4 adult children (Harriet, John, Elizabeth and Caleb) lived and died in Guernsey Co., OH. Enoch's parents were William (Sr.) and Katherine (--?--) Galloway. He had at least 2 siblings (Henry and Sarah). Henry was found living with Enoch in 1826 & 1827, and was taxed for 1 cow and 1 horse only (no land). I can find no record of William, Henry or Sarah after the death of Katherine in 1828. |
