| My great-grandfather Carl August Copenhagen, traveled from Germany, arriving in New York on December 22, 1854, aboard the ship Rastede. He traveled under the name of August Schloser with his step-father August Schloser, mother Louise Schloser, Albert Schloser, his half-brother, and Carolena Schloser, his half-sister. They departed Germany from the port of Bremen with their final destination as Cincinnati.Their last residence is listed as Hanover, Germany. The first information I can find for them is in Livingston Co., KY in the 1860s. August Sr. had listed as his occupation "cooper". My father married Perlina Mooney in Oregon Co., MO, who added to our list Mooney, Couch and Langston. The Baugh and Pursley families were included in this tree with the birth of Stephanie. They both had early origins in Barren Co., KY. This branch migrated to Illinois and Indiana. My marriage brought to our family the names Copeland, Holifield, and Burkhead. |
