I am researching the descendants of James Murphy of Cottrellsbooly, Stonyford, County Kilkenny, Ireland and his wife Catherine Drea of Oldtown, County Kilkenny.
His son Murtagh and his wife, Margaret Conway lived and farmed at Brownstown, County Kilkenny from 1850 onwards. I am particularly interested in contacting the descendants of James Murphy, son of William Murphy and Margaret Hawe of Brownstown. James was born 19th April 1881 and emigrated to Santa Monica, USA in 1906. He married Elizabeth Lynch of Bauntha, Callan, County Kilkenny c.1913 and they are shown on the 14th Census of the USA 1920 Population in the state of California and the County Imperial residing at Farm 121, number of Farm schedule 62. He is listed as a farmer and had three children, Margaret aged 4 years and 7 months and twins James and Kathlyn aged 2 years and 9 months. Their address in August 1937 was 1124-12 Street, Santa Monica and as far as is known they were still at this address until James's death circa 1953 when our family lost touch with them. It is thought that Margaret became an Interior Decorator and that James jnr., may have studied Law. James snr,. was a nephew of Father Patrick Hawe, the first Pastor of Saint Monica's Church, Santa Monica, 1886-1923.

Any information on the above family would be greatly appreciated.
