correct, he is unlikely to be the son of William Taylor.
In 1900, 1910, and 1920 census returns, his son, James A. (Jim) Taylor

age 45, and Elen, age 46, have no children living in the home. William is
a farmer. His brother Solomon and family live nearby in adjacent
dwelling 689, and his brother Elijah's widow and family live in nearby
dwelling 694. William reports real estate valued at $1000, and a
personal estate valued at $600.
1910 GA census, Carroll Co, ED7/SH2/LN74. William J. Taylor is 83
years old. He is living alone in Carrollton, GA, in dwelling 42. His niece,
Claude Taylor Hood lives nearby in dwelling 43 with her family. William
J. Taylor reports that he has 1 child, but the child is not living in 1910.
This supports the assumption that Walter Taylor counted in his
household in 1850 was his son who apparently died before 1870.
William reports that his father, William Taylor, and mother, Catherine

The following notes are copied from "Malone and Allied Families", a
Second and Revised Edition, by Randolph A. Malone, 143 Tuxedo Drive,
Thomasville, GA 31792, copyright 1996.
Floyd Malone, fourth son of Francis Malone. A farmer in his younger days,
he joined the GA Militia in 1863 at age 48 as a Cpl. of Capt. Augustus
Lane's Co. which served as local defense for Jasper and Butts Counties.
He was commisssioned a 2nd Lt. in April, 1864, 3rd Company, GA Militia.
Was a Jasper Co, GA Inferior Court Judge 1865-1898. He m. 1st Jasper
Co. 2-22-1838 Elizabeth Compton; m. 2nd Catherine "Kitty" J. (Cornwell)
Belcher, daughter of Obediah Cornwell and Mary Ann (Lane) Cornwell.
Kitty was first married to Mr Green Belcher, who did not return from the
Civil War. Catherine Malone is buried with her sons Augustus L. Malone
and Hansell B. Malone at Westview Cemetery, Jasper County, GA. Floyd
Malone is buried with his first wife Elizabeth Compton in the Lane

Notes for DAVIS LANE CORNWELL:
Davis Lane Cornwell was a farmer, a Justice of the Peace, a veteran of the American Civil War. He served under generals Joseph E. Johnston and P. T. G. Beauregard. He married 31 July 1866. He lived and died near Mechanicsville, Jasper Co, GA. He died in Monticello, Jasper Co, GA. He did not inherit anything from his father's estate as it was lost on account of the American Civil War. The estate was administrated on and sold and paid for in Confederate money, which was worthless after the War. (Joseph Davis Cornwell, Sr)

Davis Lane Cornwell was born 26 April 1836 in Jasper Co GA, the fourth child of George Washington and Eliza Lane Cornwell. He married Srah Barnes Hardy, daughter of Benager and Amelia Sutton Hardy. Their homesite was also located in the Turtle Cove Development near the present water tank tower. He and his family were among the organizers of the Mount Zion Christian Church.

A private in Co. A, 32nd GA REGT., INF, he was stationed at Fort Sumter and was in the battles of Olustee and Averasboro-Bentonville. At various times he served as Secretary to General Talliaferro and as Secretary and Cartographer at the Hqs. of General Beauregard at Charleston, SC. Prior to his military service, he was a farmer and teacher in the Mechanicsville Community and later, during the Reconstruction Era and for a number of years afterward, was an active organizer and supporter of the Democratic Party in Jasper Co. He died 3 April 1915 and is buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery. (History of Jasper Co., GA)
