Benjamin Stone

Benjamin Stone was born 1760 in North Carolina.  He married Anna (?unk) about 1785.  In the early 
1830’s he traveled with his family, first to Monroe County, (West) Virginia, then he settled in 
Kanawha County near Esksdale WV on Cabin Creek Road.  In 1840 he is the only Revolutionary 
War soldier listed in the census.  He died before 1850 in Kanawha County and his wife died before 
1860.  His children settled between Cabin Creek and Lens Creek on Route 61.  His known children 
were:  Richard b. 1812,  David Overton b. 1818,  William b. 1815,  John A. b. 1804,  Eady b. 1810, 
Hiram b. 1815.  This family is connected to the Stone’s of Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and 
Boone County, West Virginia.
