"Supposedly, all of the American Mallory's come from the same original line back to Richard Mallore who lived between the reigns of King Stephen and Keng Henry II around 1135-1189. His descendants include many lords and ladies. It is likely that the family first gained lands and recognition when fighting with William the Conqueror, as the surname first appears in English records of the time."
