| This site is dedicated to my maternal grandfather’s genealogy. It includes research not only on the surname of my maternal grandfather (Stancliff) but also on numerous other surnames of my ancestors. This site is a work in progress. Please note that there are many thousands of known ancestors from the period prior to 1600 not included in this website. It would simply be too cumbersome to add all of them, given my connection to European nobility. Those interested should consult the many published references covering the period prior to the 17th century. For my paternal genealogy and my maternal grandmother’s genealogy, click on the links provided at the bottom of this page. *******UPDATED****** 4 June 2005**************************** 1. I have split my maternal ancestry into two different web pages for the Stancliff (maternal grandfather) and Hartshorn (maternal grandmother) lines. The Hartshorn line can now be found at the link below. 2. I have added a number of ancestors in the Rockwell line, including those with surnames of Algar, Alvord, Barber, Bissell, Capen, Gaylord, Loomis, Moore, Newton, Norton, Pinney/Phinney, Purchase, Rogers, Whitcomb and White. ******************************************* Index of Surnames of My Maternal Ancestors Algar, Allen/Alling, Alvord, Andrews, Arents, Arundel, Barber, Baynton, Beeler, Belmeis, Bescherer/Besercherer/Bersercherer/Boshaar, Bevin, Bissell, Blackford, Boelen, Bonham, Boutcher, Brockwell, Brooks, Brower, Bunnell, Burley, Call, Cantilupe, Capen, Capet, Charles, Chaworth, Cleverly, Collins, Cooper, Coppin, Corbet, Cornwall/Cornwell/Cornell, Cotton, d'Artois, de Forest, de la Montagne, den Burgh, Dereslye, Doolittle, Dowrish, Drake, du Chesne, Duck, Dunham, Dunn, du Trieux, Echingham, Fergan, Fisher, Fitzalan, Fitzhugh, Fitz Randolph, Foster, Fowler, Francis, Fuller, Gaylord, Gibbs, Grey, Griffin, Griffith, Griswold, Guy/Gye, Hale, Hammond, Harcourt, Harris, Hartshorn, Haynes, Haywarde, Heilinger, Hellaker/Hilliker, Helm, Hendershot, Hilton, Hotchkiss, Howes, Hubbard, Hull, Hyanno, Imburgh (see Van Imbroeck), Johnson, Jongerman, Ladd, Lathrop/Lothrop, La Zouche, Lee, Loomis, Lorentz/Lowrens, Mack/MacDaniel, Mackworth, Maine, Mallory, Maltravers, Manning, Mannoke, Martin, Maverick, Meredith, Merwin, Meyer, Moore, Moss, Neil, Nevett, Newton, Noiret, Norton, Osgood, Pardee, Peck, Peek/Peeck, Pinney/Phinney, Plantagenet, Platt, Poore, Potter, Preston, Prowse, Purchase, Pyatt/Peatt, Quincy, Reynolds, Roberts, Rockwell, Rogers, Runyon/Rognion, Russ, Shepard, Skinner, Smalley, Smith, Stancliff/Stanclift, Syagrius, Taillefer, Taylor, Thomas, Thompson, Tilson, Tinker, Trotter, Tuttle/Tuthill, Van Camp, Van Court, Van Imbroeck (see Imburgh), Van Santen, Veaux, Watts, Weld, Wells, Whitcomb, White, Wilmot, Wilson, Wingsley/Winslow, Wood, Woodside, Wrottesley, Wyse Credits While some of the research contained in this website is original, conducted by the author, most has been conducted largely by the following: Bob and Sherry Stancliff; Derick Hartshorn; Danny Haynes; Shirley Shore and the late Will Glendenning (Van Camp-Martin-Manning and related families); Ross Pake (Peek); Gloria Lewis (Smith-Alkire); Linda Coate Dudick (Cornwell / Cornwall / Cornell); Mark Rockwell (Rockwell); Shane Symes (Hull).
