Freeman Montgomery, 84
Mr. Freeman Montgomery, son of the late Mr. Benjamin Franklin Montgomery and Mrs. Nancy Susan Clark Montgomery, was born August 17, 1906 in Green County and departed this life Thursday, Sept. 13, 1990, at the McDowell Skilled Nursing Facility in Greensburg. He was 84 years and 27 days of age.
He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ladies Chapel United Methodist Church at the time of his death.
He united in marriage to Miss Roxie Gardner June 8, 1926, and she preceded him in death Oct. 7, 1986. To this union were born five daughters and four sons. Surviving are: Mrs. Dorothy Perkins, South Carolina; Florence Loveall, Greensburg; Judy Stayton, Florida; Glenda Britton, Campbellsville; Franklin, Houston and Charles Montgomery, all of Greensburg, and Edward Montgomery, Marrowbone, Ky. Gladys Marie Davis preceded her father in death March 17, 1986.
Mr. Montgomery is also survived by one brother: Jimmie Montgomery, Greensburg; 30 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
The remains are at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home where funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, with the burial in the Montgomery Cemetery. Rev. David Alexander officiated.
Pallbearers were Eddie Scott, Teddy Montgomery, Harold Montgomery, Lanny Jewell, Jon David Montgomery and Bruce Loveall.

Notes for KATHERINE GLADYS GARDNER:
Roxie Gardner Montgomery, 76, daughter of Carle (Carley) Dick Gardner and Salona Catherine (Solonia Katherine) King Gardner, was born Feb. 26, 1910, in Green County and died at 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 1986, at the Taylor County Hospital in Campbellsville.
She was a member of the Ladies Chapel Methodist Church at the time of her death.
She united in marriage to Freeman Montgomery on June 8, 1926, who survives. To this union were born five daughters and four sons. Surviving are Dorothy Perkins, California, Florence Mathews, Atlanta Ga., Judy Stayton, Florida, Glenda Britton, Campbellsville, Franklin Montgomery, Summersville, Houston Montgomery, Milltown, Edward Montgomery, Florida, and Charles Montgomery, Greensburg. A daughter, Gladys Marie Davis, preceded her mother in death March 17, 1986.
Mrs. Montgomery is also survived by her stepmother, Florence Gardner, Cadiz; one half-brother, J.C. Gardner, Cadiz; 32 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct 10, with burial in the Montgomery Cemetery. The Revs. Gary Polston and Jerry Noe officiated. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were: Bruce Loveall, Barry Loveall, Eddie Scott, Teddy Montgomery, Joe Mason and Jon Montgomery.
