Mr. Houston "Hooter" Montgomery, son of the late Mr. Freeman Montgomery and Mrs. Roxie Gardner Montgomery, was born 17 Feb 1937 in Green Co. and departed this life on Fri. 25 Mar 1994 at his home in Larue Co. He was 57 years, 1 month and 9 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church. He united in marriage to Miss Marianna Marr on 2 Dec 1893* (*this marriage date is a misprint I will correct when I have the right information*), who survives. He is also survived by 1 son: Teddy Montgomery of Greensburg; 1 daughter: Vicki Pickett of Greensburg; 2 step-children: Susan Owens and Jerry Underwood, both of Louisville; 2 brothers: Edward Montgomery of Marrowbone and Charles Montgomery of Greensburg; 4 sisters: Glenda Britton of Campbellsville, Judy Statton of Florida, Dorothy Perkins of Arkansas, and Florence Loveall of Greensburg; 3 grandchildren: Nathan Montgomery, Mandi Pickett and Melani Pickett, all of Greensburg; 3 step-grandchildren Kyle and Kelsey Underwood and Stephanie Owens, all of Louisville; and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral services fro Mr. Houston "Hooter" Montgomery were conducted at 1:00 pm Sunday, 27 Mar at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Montgomery Cem. Rev. William Karnes officiated. Active pallbearers were Teddy Montgomery, David Martin, Allen Ray Pickett, William Coffey, Arlin Downey and J.B. Montgomery. Honorary pallbearers were Nathan Montgomery, Russell Wright, Rollin Wright, George Goff, Art Milby and Billy Martin.

Gladys Marie Montgomery Davis, 56, daughter of Freeman Montgomery and Roxie Gardner Montgomery of Green County died Monday, March 17 [1986], at the Metzmeier Nursing Home in Campbellsville. Ms. Davis is survived by two daughters and one son: Debbie Curry, Greensburg; Galene Eastridge, Campbellsville, and Jon David Montgomery, also of Campbellsville. She is survived by four sisters and four brothers: Dorothy Perkins, Kansas; Florence Matthews, Greensburg; Franklin Montgomery, Summersville, Houston Montgomery, Milltown, Ky.; Edward Montgomery, Florida; Charles Montgomery, Greensburg; Judy Stayton, Florida and Glenda Britton of Campbellsville. Also surviving are five grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 20, with burial in the Montgomery Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Polston officiated. Pallbearers were Bobby Matthews, Teddy Montgomery, Nelson Perkins, Roger Allen Stayton, Barry Loveall, Joe Mason, Eddie Scott, and Sam Breener.
