From obituary in Carmi Democrat Tribune, August 17, 1948:
He died at home after a long illness. He had been seriously ill for 7 weeks and was treated at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and Welborn Hospital in Evansville. He lived in Maunie his entire life except for a short time in East St. Louis.
