I am researching the following surnames in Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois: FRYMIRE, KELLO, LEE, MATTHEWS, MORRIS, SANDERS, and PHELPS.My mother's side of the family which includes FRANA, JIRAK, and PECHOTA are from northeast Iowa.
My great-great-great grandfather Absalom FRYMIRE was born about 1817. He married Martha Runiner July 23, 1835 in Posey Co., IN. His family is in the 1850 Census of Perry Co., IN. His son John C. (my g-g grandfather) married and lived in White Co., IL. I am looking for Absalom's parents. I am also looking for the connection between Absalom and John to Jacob Frymire who married Algarena Foster in Posey Co., IN on January 10, 1830. Jacob's family is found in the 1860 Census of White Co., IL.
My great-great-great-great grandfather Nehemiah KELLO was born about 1781 in Delaware and was in the War of 1812. He was married to Susannah BRYANT. They had seven children, of which the only child I know of is Isaac Kello, Sr. They eventually moved to Claiborne Co., TN. Isaac moved his family to White Co., IL, and Nehemiah and Susannah moved there in their later years. I am looking for any other descedants of Nehmiah and Susannah.
My great-great-great-grandfather James LEE was born in 1829 in Bedford Co., TN. According to his second marriage license in White Co., IL, his parents were William Lee and Elizabeth DANIEL. I believe that William was the son of Peter Lee, Sr. and Margaret Eoff, but I am trying to find proof of this. James Lee married Susannah MATTHEWS in White Co., IL in 1850.
My great-great-great grandfather Washington MORRIS was married to Lucinda YORK in 1840 in Edwards Co., IL. They had at least seven children, three of them were Charles, Isaac, and Shelton. They were in White Co., IL by 1870.
My great-grandfather John Lewis SANDERS was born in 1875 in Butler Co., KY. According to his obituary, his parents were John and Sue Sanders, and he had one other brother, Uriah Sanders. John married Lillie PHELPS. They lived in Union Co., KY and moved to White Co., IL in the early 1920s. Lillie's parents were Ronald Columbus PHELPS and Jane Kathleena PATTERSON. I am wanting to find information on the families of John and Sue Sanders and Ronald Columbus and Jane Kathleena Patterson Phelps.
A lot of research has already been done on the Frana, Jirak, and Pechota families. My great-great-grandfather William Wendal FRANA was born in 1835 in Obora, Austria. He settled in Winneshiek Co., Iowa. He was a veteran of the Cival War. He was married to Marie PHILLIPENSKY and Josephine Matousek. The Frana family reunion is held every five years in Spilliville, Iowa. The next reunion is July 25, 1999.
My great-great-grandfather Wenzel JIRAK was born in 1825 in Bohemia, Czech. He and his wife, Mary DVORAK, and thier oldest son, John, sailed to America up the Mississippi River and eventually settled near Spillville, Iowa. They had 12 children, nine of whom grew to adulthood.
My great-great grandfather Frank PECHOTA was born in 1845. He was married to Mary POLODNA. They also came from Bohemia, Czech. and settled in Iowa.
