Daughter of Duncan and a pioneer settler of South East Mabou. She was a grandaunt of the late Rev. Father John F. MacMaster, PP of Mabou. She and her family came to Canada and settled in Mabou. On their way from Lochaber, Scotland, to Cape Breton, they spent some time in New York and for that reason, they were distinguished by the name York, MP 1, pages 326 and 715.
