JOE COUCH, VETERAN OF THE CIVIL WAR, DIED IN CHILLICOTHE SATURDAY

Had Been a Resident of Livingston County for More Than Half a Century

Joe Couch, 67 years old, a veteran of the Civil War, and a resident of Chillicothe for more than fifty years, died Saturday afternoon at the home of his son, Joe Couch, Jr., in Highview of peresis and stomach trouble. He had been ill for several weeks.
Mr. Couch was a native of Tennessee but had resided in Chillicothe since 1860. The latter years of his life were devoted to farming. He had a wide acquaintance in Livingston County.
Besides the widow, Mr. Couch is survived by the following children: Clarence, Sam and Ed. Couch of Kansas City, Park and Joe Couch of Chillicothe, James Couch of Arkansas, Albert Couch of Seattle, and Mrs. Peter Wood of Chillicothe. A brother lives in Quincy.
Funeral services were held from the house this (Monday) morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by the pastor of the First Baptist Church, and interment made in Edgewood.

Passed Away at Her Home on Commercial Avenue Sunday Afternoon - Funeral Tuesday.

Mrs. J.A. Couch, widow of Joe Couch, who died about two years ago, died at her home on Commercial Street Sunday afternoon at 3:15(?) o'clock. Her death was due to a stroke of paralysis. The funeral will be held from home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Warren P. Clark of the First Baptist church conducting the services. Interment will be in Edgewood cemetery.

The deceased had been a resident of Chillicothe for a number of years. She was 70 years old.

One daughter Mrs. Peter (Ida Mae) Woods, and six sons survive, J.W. (John William), P.A. (Parker Allen), C.A. (Clarence), A.P. (Albert), J.L. (James Luther) and J.E. (Joseph Ellis).
