George D. Couch - Obituary of Sept. 2, 1983:

George D. Couch, 1605 Concord Circle, Independence died Thursday at a medical center in Independence. He was 53 and a former Chillicothe resident.
Born April 30, 1930, in Chillicothe, he was a son of William and Susan Denney Couch. he attended school here and was reared here. On April 30, 1955 he married Marilyn Irene Pfaff. They made their home in the Chillicothe area all their married lives until five years ago, when they moved to Independence. At the time of his death, he was employed as Superintendent of Custodians at Fort Osage School. Mr. Couch was a member of St. Columban's Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife of the home; three sons, Dennis, Independence; Tim and Ed, both of Chillicothe; two daughters, Julana Couch, Ludlow and Joella Couch, Independence; two granddaughters, Melanie and Misty Couch, Independence; brother Jerry Couch, Madison, Kansas; and a sister Betty Campbell of Forrest City, Arkansas.
The Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Columban's Church with Father Malachy Riley officiating. Burial will be in St. Columban's cemetery. Rosary will be said at 7:30 this evening at the chapel of the Lindley Funeral Home.

Marilyn Couch - Obituary of November 12, 1983:

Mrs. Marilyn Irene Couch, 51-year-old resident of 1605 Concord Circle, Independence, died at 10 p.m. Friday at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.
Born in Chillicothe, August 22, 1932, she was a daughter of Wilbur and Gertrude Murphy Pfaff. She attended school here and on April 30, 1955, married George Couch. They made their home here until 1978, at which time they moved to Independence. Mrs. Couch was employed at Fort Osage School District and was a member of St. Columban's Catholic Church. She attended St. Joseph Worker Catholic Church in Independence.
She was preceded in death by her husband George in September of this year.
Surviving are three sons, Dennis, Independence, and Tim and Edward, both of Chillicothe; two daughters, Julana Couch, Ludlow, and Joella Couch, Independence; two grandchildren, Melanie and Misty Couch, both of Independence and her mother, Gertrude Pfaff, Chillicothe.
Her Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 o'clock this morning with Father Malachy Riley officiating. Deacon was Lawrence Schneider, with Brenda Lauhoff being organist. Pallbearers were Gordon Hawkins, Bill Cramer, Kenneth Stodgell, David Crookshanks, Larry Miller and Arthur Butler.
Rosary was said Sunday evening at the chapel of the Lindley Funeral Home.
