Obituary from Columbia County Dispatch, Dayton, Washington, March 12, 1913:

"John Hutcheon"

"John Hutcheon passed away, aged 62 years, at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane Saturday and the remains were brought to Dayton Sunday for burial, the service under the direction of Rev. Harry E. Mason, was held at the grave immediately after the arrival of th 3 o'clock train Sunday afternoon."

"Mr. Hutcheon was a native of Scotland, but had resided in America since his early boyhood, and in Washington since 1875, when he arrived here overland from Ogden in the company with M. R. Brown and wife."

"The deceased worked at general blacksmithing with Andrew Nilsson for some years and has since worked at his trade in various towns of the Northwest."

"The deceased is survived by two brothers in the east and the family of his late brother, George Hutcheon, of Dayton."
