Ellen Marie Coulombe
|
The Johnson surname did not come into being in my family tree until the beginning of this past Century when Grandpa and Grandma Johnson (paternal Grandparents) emigrated from Farsund, Norway to Brooklyn, NYC and my Paternal Grandfather changed his name to Thomas G. Johnson from Tønnes Gabriel Johannessen Reppen. My father's mother is from the Farm (Gard) Torp in Vanse; and my father's father was born in Flekkefjord on the farm Reppen; but his people came from Sirdal. My mother was born in Farsund and her people came from Herad in Farsund; with the line going back to Fjotland and Sirdal. All of my ancestors are from Vest-Agder, Norway. On my Husband's side, we have the name of Coulombe, which originated in Quebec, then France; and his Mother's surname of Stefanick from Slovakia. All enquiries, comments or corrections welcome.
